Mother Goose Jazz Band to Feature Laurel Masse of Manhattan Transfer Fame
Albany NY- The Mother Goose Jazz Band will feature special guest artist, Laurel Masse, a founding member of The Manhattan Transfer, at a holiday jazz concert, on Saturday, November 26th, for 2 shows, 11AM and 1PM, at The NYS Museum's Clark Auditorium, Albany, NY
Along with The Manhattan Transfer, Laurel Masse achieved international recognition, touring and recording almost non-stop throughout the 1970s. Ms. Masse is one of the most complete singers of her generation, equally at ease with an orchestra, a jazz quartet or completely alone. She will be joining The Mother Goose Jazz Band along with some of the top jazz artists from the Capital Region.
The Mother Goose Jazz Band is known for bringing the wonderful world of jazz to children ages 2-10 and their families. In Spring, 2002, they were voted the Capital Regions Best Band for Kids (And Their Parents) by The Times Union Preview Magazine. Led by founder/saxophonist Josh Greenberg, the group will also feature Gene Garone on Drums, David Gleason on Keyboards,Ryan Lukas on Bass, Ken Olsen on Trombone, Cathy Olsen on vocals, and a host of talented young singers and actors from the Shenendehowa School District
